Aimee did look wild and raw though, like she’d been living on her own longer than Jim had let on. But there was also a vulnerability about her that wouldn’t allow him to leave. She was his patient, regardless of whatever her troubles were now.
“Mmm.” She frowned in her sleep and turned toward him. Her eyes remained closed, her lashes dark smudges above her cheekbones. She mumbled something else and he scooted his chair closer. “His paw.” Her hair was still damp from the bath, and he brushed the long bangs away from her forehead.
“Aimee?” “His paw.” Her brows came together and she turned away. “See? There.” Jake checked the IV drip and felt her forehead again. Her dreams would be strange because of the fever. But it

Everything she Forgot by Lisa Ballantyne + Giveaway

Genre: Thriller / Contemporary
Publisher: William Morrow
Buy the book: Book Depository | Amazon

Lisa Ballantyne, international bestselling author of The Guilty One, delivers a compelling domestic thriller with impeccably observed characters and masterful edge-of-your-seat storytelling in a novel that leaps between past and present with page-turning finesse
They’re calling it the worst pile-up in London history. Driving home, Margaret Holloway has her mind elsewhere—on a troubled student, her daughter’s acting class, the next day’s meeting—when she’s rear-ended and trapped in the wreckage. Just as she begins to panic, a disfigured stranger pulls her from the car just seconds before it’s engulfed in flames. Then he simply disappears.
Though she escapes with minor injuries, Margaret feels that something’s wrong. She’s having trouble concentrating. Her emotions are running wild. More than that, flashbacks to the crash are also dredging up lost associations from her childhood, fragments of events that were wiped from her memory. Whatever happened, she didn’t merely forget—she chose to forget. And somehow, Margaret knows deep down that it’s got something to do with the man who saved her life.
As Margaret uncovers a mystery with chilling implications for her family and her very identity, Everything She Forgot winds through a riveting dual narrative and asks the question: How far would you go to hide the truth—from yourself…?

Everything She Forgot takes place in the present and 1985 and is told from different perspectives. This can be quite confusing but in this case it worked. All the different perspectives gave a whole story, if this was told with only one perspective the book would not have been quite such a great read.

Fans of female-powered thrillers will love debut author LS Hawker and her suspenseful tale of a young woman on the run for her future and from the nightmares of her past."
The Drowning Game was most definately a very intriging read. Eventhough the story starts of with quite an opening it does start of a bit slow and it made me wonder a bit how the story would evolve since it was quite an odd start.

Guest Post Andrew Joyce

My name is Andrew Joyce, and I write books for a living. Kim has been kind enough to allow me a little space on her blog to promote my new book, MOLLY LEE. The story is a female-driven account of a young naive girl’s journey into an independent, strong woman and all the trouble she gets into along the way.

Now you may possibly be asking yourself, What is a guy doing writing in a woman’s voice? And that’s a good question. I can only say that I did not start out to write about Molly; she just came to me one day and asked that I tell her story.
Perhaps I should start at the beginning.

My first book was a 164,000-word historical novel. And in the publishing world, anything over 80,000 words for a first-time author is heresy. Or so I was told time and time again when I approached an agent for representation. After two years of research and writing, and a year of trying to secure the services of an agent, I got angry. To be told that my efforts were meaningless was somewhat demoralizing to say the least. I mean, those rejections were coming from people who had never even read my book.
