Writing is essentially a part of my soul. I find that I need to continue to write to remain happy and to stay focused in life. Not a day goes by that I am not writing something, even if it is as simple as a poem on the back of a napkin.
Usually, I will have an idea come to me when I am doing something random, then I will have the urge to sit down and write as much as I can, until the story is done or I have hit a wall. While most people will allow writer’s block to slow them down, I take it as a sign that I need to move on to something new.
Right now, I have several different stories in the works that I pick up and work on until I come to a point where I am not sure what direction to take the story. From there, I will pick up a different title as I consider my options for the one I just put down. This does take some discipline and taking the time to keep notes about where I have left off and the history that is there.
Of course, some items do have a deadline attached to them and because of that I do put heavier focus on them as that time nears. At the moment, I am finishing up an Irish themed story that is going to be released around St. Patrick’s Day. It has a lot of paranormal themes in it and I do hope my readers like it.
This story is going to be unique in the sense that is does have an underlying romantic theme to it as well. Often, I just go for dark humor and full force horror. I felt like changing things up a little and adding a new element into this tale. It will be interesting to see what people think about it.
While it is still too soon to release too much info on it, I will say it is a bit of a departure from Perfection and Brutal. While those were both shorts that focused on the inner demons people have, this one is about lost love and how far a person will go to reconnect.
I’ve laid out some jumbled thoughts and ideas to give you a better idea of who I am. I know there are several different topics that were covered in this post, but I do hope that they have helped you to get a better idea of who I am.
After all, writing is part of my identity. I think I will continue to write in some form or another as long as I am alive. Be it the tales of fiction and horror that I craft and send out to the world, or the articles I write regularly for clients at www.needanarticle.com. There will always be something I am writing up to help keep the creative side of me alive.
Author Bio:
Joel M. Andre was born January 13, 1981. At a young age he was fascinated with the written word. It was at fourteen that Poe blew his mind, and Andre began to dabble with darker poetry. Between the years of 1999 and 2007 Joel was featured in various poetry anthologies and publications. In 2008 he released his first collection, Pray the Rain Never Ends.Knowing there was something deeper and darker inside of his soul, Joel decided to take a stab at commercialism. Releasing the dark tongue in cheek, A Death at the North Pole, created a dark world among the death of Kris Kringle. Ultimately providing a tale of redemption. October of 2008 saw Joel release his second book, Kill 4 Me. A tale in which a woman is haunted by a vengeful spirit through text messages and instant messaging.
Taking some time off and doing a lot of soul searching, Joel took things in a new direction and dabbled in the Fantasy Genre with, The Pentacle of Light. The tale dealing with five major races battling for control of Earth, and the acceptance of their God. Finally, after missing his detective Lauren Bruni, he released the book The Return in October 2009, this time moving the action from the North Pole and placing it in the small Arizona community he was raised in. Andre’s latest book is The Black Chronicles: Cry of the Fallen about a dead man who seeks revenge on the woman that tormented him in peaceful Northern Arizona.
Currently, he resides in Chandler, AZ.
